A new Byzantine-period mosaic

DECORATIVE ART: Family out for a hike stumbles across Byzantine-era mosaic. Israel Antiquities Authority experts excavate the colorful floor, which was sent out for conservation work. The IAA plans to open the site to visitors (Israel HaYom).
The multi-colored mosaic features geometric motifs. According to IAA archaeologist Ilan Peretz, it dates from the Byzantine Era.
