The archaeology of Gaza
THE ARCHAEOLOGY OF GAZA is treated by Reuters in "Sands, Not Lights, Cover Gaza Archaeology Sites" by Khan Younis. It mentions an amateur museum of archaeology run by one Waleed Al-Aqqad, but does not cover the archaeology museum of Jawhdat Khodary or the Gaza archaeological museum announced by the PA some years ago (what ever happened to that one?). It also deals with the site of the Saint Hilarion monastery and the challenges of trying to maintain the region's archaeology under Hamas.
A few earlier posts on the history and archaeology of Gaza are here, here, and here.
