God, the Educator. A New Approach to a Concept of Biblical Theology between Hebrew Bible, Septuagint and Classical Greek Literature.
Was the God illustrated in the Septuagint the Hebrew idea of a God who disciplines or did he represent the Greek ideal of education? Patrick Pouchelle suggests a new approach to this issue. By establishing the lexical equivalence between יסר and παιδεύω, he aims to explain why the Greek translators have rendered יסר as παιδεύω and thus link it to the Hebrew bible.
