The Valley of the Cheesemakers, as the ravine was called, which, as we said, divides the hill of the upper city from that of the lower, extends down to Siloam; for so we called that fountain of sweet and abundant water.The reference is Jewish War 5.4.1 [= 5 �140] in Thackeray's LCL translation (but the link leads to Whiston's translation, which reads "Cheesemongers").
