H-Judaic is saddened to learn of the passing of Prof. Meir Lubetski (1938-2025), longtime professor of Literature and Languages at Baruch College, City University, New York.May his memory be for a blessing.Raised in Israel, Prof. Lubetski pursued his Ph.D. at New York University with Cyrus Gordon and spent his entire career at Baruch, where he focused on Biblical and Rabbinic Literature, Hebrew Language and Literature, Yiddish Language and Literature, and Ancient Near Eastern Languages and Literatures.
